Yuen is a deep technologist and established industry leader with over 25 years of experience in the photonics space. He is currently the President of Lumentum’s Cloud and Networking Platform.
Prior to this role, Yuen served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for both Lumentum’s Telecom Transmission and Datacom business units.
Yuen joined the company through Lumentum’s acquisition of NeoPhotonics, where he had been Chief Product Officer since 2018, and Senior Vice President and General Manager since 2014. From 2005 to 2014, Yuen held numerous leadership roles within NeoPhotonics, including Senior Vice President of Product and Technology Development, Vice President of Product Development and Engineering, and Director of Business Development. From 2002 to 2004, Yuen served as Chief Technology Officer of Bandwidth9, a telecommunications tunable laser company.
Yuen holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. He has completed various executive education programs at Harvard Business School and the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business in innovation, general management, finance, and leadership.
